Fourth Annual Gathering of the Western Pennsylvania Corvette Clubs, Sunday, July 13, 2003.

The Presque Isle Corvette Club is the oldest surviving car club in the Erie area and the only Corvette Club remaining. It's very modest beginnings in 1970 saw tremendous growth up into the 1980's. During the late 70's the Club divided and Corvette Erie was formed. Corvette Erie disbanded in late 80's leaving the Presque Isle Corvette Club, Erie's oldest and first Corvette Club to live on. The Presque Isle Corvette Club was formed to provide planned trips, events and social activities for it's members. We enjoy getting together for Cruises and attending Car Shows.

Even though we are small in membership at present, the Presque Isle Corvette Club is involved in many community service projects. We have sponsored the McDonald's Cruise-ln's throughout the Erie area. We also have sponsored a couple Poker Runs during the Car Show Season. All of the proceeds from these events are donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The monies remain here in Erie to benefit many children's programs. This year we will be hosting an all Corvette night at Quaker Steak here in Erie. We have in the past worked with the PA State Police with a Poker Run to benefit their Camp Cadet. The Presque Isle Corvette Club also sponsors an annual Classic Car Night at the Drive-ln. The proceeds from this event benefit the Community Shelter "Back to School" Program. This program benefits underprivileged children helping them go back to school with some new clothing and coats and shoes in the fall.

In 2003 the PICC is planning a Corvette Celebration in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette to be held July 6th at St. Nick's Grove. Details are still pending.

To be a member or maintain membership in our Club, you must own a Corvette. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at Quaker Steak & Lube on Peach St & I-90 at 8:00 p.m. New members are always welcome.
