The United Rays Corvette
Club was established in 1977 and is the oldest African American car club
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has 35 members.
This Club is also an affiliate of the United Council of Corvette Clubs
("U.C.C.C."). The U.C.C.C. is made up of affiliate clubs
representing the Central, Mid-Atlantic and southern regions of the
United States.
The
United Rays Club participates in numerous community parades, cruises,
out-of-town car shows and drag racing competitions each year. Recently
the United Rays Club attended a points meet held in Cleveland, OH, Drag
Racing and Khana competitions provided an entertainment packed weekend
for all including a magnificent car show held on Sunday, Pittsburgh
brought home Trophy's in all classes. This Year the Club will attend the
25. U.C.C.C convention to be held in Memphis Tennessee July 7th
thru 13th the convention theme for this year will be "VETTES
& Blues IN 2002" the United Rays Club represents the
City of Pittsburgh with outstanding driving skills being awarded
trophies in both the male and female competition categories. We look
forward to being with all of the WPCCC clubs. |
